How to Use:
Step 1: Before you start you will need the 14 Day UV Gel Clear Polish Kit, your favourite coloured brand of nail polish, an old towel and access to a power supply.
Step 2: Preparing the nails. This is the most important part of applying nail polish, if the nails are not correctly prepared the polish will not have a silky smooth salon finish and may not last as long. Follow each of these steps carefully and thoroughly. We suggest you work on one hand or foot at a time. Remove jewellery and any nail products using Acetone Solution, file and shape nails to a uniform length and wash and dry hands or feet thoroughly. Remove the residual skin cells from the nail plate surface and lightly buff over the nail plate to remove surface shine and any ridges and brush away any dust.
Step 3: Now wipe over the nail plate with Finishing Wipe, once it’s evaporated you are ready to apply the 2-in-1 Base Coat. It is important to apply base coat to your nails before applying your favourite coloured nail polish. Base coat helps to prolong the life of your polish and also stops any staining on the natural nail plate. Finish off by capping the free edge of the nail. After the base coat has dried fully, you are ready to apply your favourite nail colour.
Step 4: Applying nail polish in thin layers will achieve the best results, starting at the centre of the nail leaving a 1mm gap away from the cuticle, brush the polish towards the free edge in one smooth motion. Immediately proceed with the sides of the nail in the same manner and finish off by capping the free edge of the nail. Leave coloured polish to dry for at least 30 minutes before applying UV clear gel nail polish.
Step 5: Place your nails under the UV bulb to cure the gel for 3 minutes. Repeat the application of Clear UV Gel Polish Top Coat and curing process two more times. Each layer of gel always appears tacky after curing, this is completely normal. Once you have applied and cured 3 layers of Clear UV Gel Polish Top Coat use Finishing Wipe on a Lint Free Wipe to gently remove the tacky top layer revealing the hardened, glossy gel underneath.

This is one of those cases where you are a little skeptical about whether it will work, I got this for Christmas and tried it out the same day, used this with a normal nail polish with the gel top coat over the top and it dried so quickly. I actually had this on for 16 days and had no chips or scratches at all. I was so impressed with this i actually brought a UV tunnel style lamp so that I could dry a full hand at a time but i would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting longer lasting nail colour.
I now also have gel colour polishes to use with the gel top coat from this kit, its not 5 months since i got this and I change my nail colour every 1-2 weeks and i still have plenty of gel top coat left over!!!By susan - 20th May 2012
What tips should I follow for successful UV Gel Polish application? Patience is the key - each layer of colour can take up to 30 minutes to dry fully, its worth waiting this time especially when the results are so long lasting.
The free edge of the nail is the area most exposed to general wear and tear, therefore, it is important to cap the free edge of the nail during base, colour and Clear UV Gel Polish Top Coat application.
Remember the most common cause of nail polish chipping is poor nail preparation before applying your Polish. Try to meticulously remove all residual cuticle cells from the nail plate before proceeding to the next stage and do NOT touch the nail plate after the preparation stage to prevent contamination with skin oils. If you accidently touch the plate, wipe over again with finishing wipe to remove any oils you may have transferred.
UV bulbs take about a minute to reach to full strength so turn on at least one minute before use.
To avoid getting air bubbles in your colour coat, ROLL the bottle between your hands before application rather than shaking.
Your colour coat is best applied in THIN layers, in most cases two THIN layers will be sufficient
Remember, when applying the Clear UV Gel Polish Top Coat, apply in THIN layers. It is normal for the surface to feel tacky after each curing. Do NOT remove the tacky layer until the third coat of Clear UV Gel Polish Top Coat has been applied and cured.
What after care advice should I follow? To prolong the life of your manicure do NOT use detergents, such as washing powders or washing-up liquid, or bleach without wearing rubber gloves.
Can I use any brand of nail colour? Because 14 Day UV Gel Clear Polish creates a resilient high gloss finish to any brand of nail colour, you don’t need to buy the most expensive polishes on the market, just pick the colour that you like and let 14 Day do the rest!
The UV Polish isn’t curing? It is important to understand the curing process, the surface of UV polish will always remain tacky as the UV polish cures (hardens) from underneath. After applying and curing your first layer of gel the surface will be tacky, this is normal, simply apply and cure your 2nd layer of gel over this. Again the surface of the 2nd layer will be tacky and this is normal. Apply and cure the 3rd layer of gel over this, then gently wipe over the surface of the nail with some Finishing Wipe applied to a lint free wipe to remove the tacky surface, revealing the hardened gel underneath.
I can’t feel any heat coming from the lamp, is this normal? Yes the UV lamp does not use heat to cure (dry) the UV polish. It is the UV rays emitted from the bulb that will cure the gel.
